I’m Birdy Anne.
I follow Real Jesus and write from fresh resurrection.
This is not a curated life.
It is a reclaimed one.
The ground beneath these pages was not always a garden.
Beauty is a miracle when it grows from ash.
These pages are a quiet witness to what continues to return as I learn to inhabit communion with Real Jesus.
Learning to walk after being bound.
Tasting freedom after starvation.
Waking to light.
Learning to move again.
Imagination returning.
Capacity enlarging.
Wonder awakening.
Communion after spiritual homelessness.
The senses coming alive.
Discovering what becomes possible when Love, not fear, leads the way.
Learning life after scorched ground.
I gather sparks of His faithful presence through creation, the changing seasons, and the small moments that often pass unseen. Some become essays. Some become photographs. Some become bread, gardens, or art.
Often, a passage of Scripture walks beside me.
Not as something forced.
Not as something distorted.
But as bread, given in the measure that nourishes.
Over time, I’ve discovered that the Word is becoming life again—not as something to master or defend, but as daily bread, given in the measure that heals.
Creation and Scripture have become companions on the same walk, quietly drawing my attention to the One who authored them both.
A bird arriving at just the right moment.
An anole resting beside a stroller.
The fragrance of bread rising in the kitchen.
A verse meeting the morning.
None of these replace one another.
They simply become companions along the same path, each gently drawing my attention back to the faithful presence of Real Jesus.
Here, I’m learning that communion is not found by escaping ordinary life, but by inhabiting it with Real Jesus.
Everything has its God song.
I’m learning to hear it again.
And, little by little, to live my own.
They are not separate things.
They are the first fruits of a reclaimed life.
The echoes have not disappeared.
They are changing.
Softening.
Losing their power to define the landscape.
What once felt like survival slowly becomes communion.
What once felt like vigilance becomes noticing.
What once felt like scarcity becomes abundance.
Where tears once drowned, they now water.
I’m learning that Love does not rush to hurried completion.
Its intimacy can be trusted because it does not extract.
It bears the weight of carrying what is not yet ready to stand on its own.
It allows room to stumble.
It welcomes honest protest.
It honors consent.
Wrong turns are not punished.
They are gently redirected.
Delight no longer has to hide.
It no longer expects to be stolen.
Nothing in me has to hide from Real Jesus.
His presence is not surveillance.
It is communion.
Nothing has to be grasped or protected in order to remain a gift.
Communion follows me because He does.
The garden is where being fully seen is no longer dangerous because the One who sees me is Love.
It is where I am learning that every good gift can remain free—including me.
If you stay awhile, perhaps you’ll begin to notice what I have been noticing.
Not because my eyes are different than yours.
But because Real Jesus is always inviting us to see His faithfulness in the ordinary.
Come and see what Real Jesus continues to grow from scorched ground.
These pages are not about creating a beautiful life.
They are about learning to inhabit the life Real Jesus has been faithfully restoring all along.
Welcome.
